AAMCT's Beauty and the Beast Cast List


Thank you for auditioning for AAMCT's "Beauty and the Beast." We are very proud of everyone who auditioned.  There were a lot of extremely talented students with an abundance of performance experience and it was very difficult to select the Cast.  If you didn't get exactly the part you wanted, we encourage you to do your best in the part you received. If you didn't make the Cast this time, we would love to see you again for a future show. Every show you are in makes you a stronger performer and there is something to learn from each and every performance experience. We are looking forward to an amazing show!  
Please confirm your Role by emailing AllAboutMusicMokena@yahoo.com no later than 1 PM this Saturday, January 18th. ROLES NOT CONFIRMED BY EMAILING WILL BE REASSIGNED!! The mandatory parent meeting will be this Sunday, January 19th at St. John's Community Center. CAST BLUE (A)'s parent meeting is from 11:30 AM to 12:00 NOON. Students stay until 1:30 PM. CAST RED (B)'s parent meeting is from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM. Students stay until 3:45 PM. Students will be measured for costumes, volunteer forms and participation fees are also due. We will mail out the forms you need Saturday afternoon at approximately 2:00 PM AFTER YOU HAVE CONFIRMED YOUR ROLE AND WE RECEIVE YOUR EMAIL.  Because of the size of the cast each student will need to provide their own black dress pants and white shirt as a secondary costume for Be Our Guest.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.  We can't wait to get started! In order to register for a spot you must complete the audition registration form and turn in the registration fee.  The $25 audition registration fee will be applied toward tuition if you are cast. If WE are not able to cast you, the fee will be refunded. If you decided not to audition or participate the fee will not be refunded. We are anticipating a large turn out and would like to take as many students as possible so we would like to make sure everyone is serious about participating.  There are two ways to register and receive the audition packet. You can follow the link at the bottom of this page to the online registration form and pay the registration fee via Paypal. Or you can print out a PDF of the form and bring it along with your cash or check payment to the studio M-TH 2:00 until 7:30 (STUDIO IS CLOSED 12/20/19 – 01/05/20) and we will email you the audition packet. If you need a hard copy of the audition music you can purchase a CD for $5 cash at the studio. The studio is located at 19108 Wolf Road, Mokena, IL 60448

At auditions students will be taught a short dance combination, sing a portion of a song from the audition packet and read a selection for the character you are auditioning for from the audition packet, which will be emailed once you register.


Call backs will be held on Sunday, January 12th from approximately 12:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday evening,  January 13th if needed. Not everyone will need to be seen for a callback.  The call back list will be posted on the website Saturday night.  Please note: receiving a call back does not guarantee you a particular part.  It simply means we need to see and hear you again.


Performances are Friday-Sunday April 3rd – 5th.  Depending on enrollment we may double or triple cast some of the characters but each student will be in a minimum of two shows.  All shows are at Lincoln-way Central in New Lenox.


The tuition fee is $325 per student. ($300 after the audition registration fee is deducted. All payments are cash or check only) This helps to offset the cost of months of education and supervision during rehearsals as well as the child’s script, CD, costume, set construction and materials, props, royalties, publicity, rehearsal space rental and theatre rental.  It does not include shoes, socks, tights or leotards. 


Tickets are $14 for adults, $13 for seniors and kids 12 and under when purchased in advance.  Seating is reserved and tickets are assigned in the order received, group rates are available, please inquire. All tickets at the door are cash only, $15.


As with any organization of this size all parents are required to volunteer.  A minimum of 5 hours per child is required or if it is more convenient you can pay the $50 buyout fee.  PLEASE NOTE:  We are still working on the honor system and do not require the volunteer fee in advance like many other organizations.  However if you have not fulfilled your volunteer time from a previous play the full or partial buyout fee is due at audition sign-up. Please inquire if you are unsure as we keep a running list.


The mandatory parent meeting and costume measurement and first rehearsal is on SUNDAY, January 19th between 11:30 and 3:30.  There will also be rehearsal SUNDAY, January 26th.  There are no rehearsals on Saturday the 18th or 25th.

In general rehearsals are on Saturday, Thursday and Monday. Everyone will have rehearsals on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm, at St. John's Community Center. Some of these rehearsals will be broken up into morning and afternoon depending on the number of students that are chosen for the cast.  But everyone will rehearse in the morning in January and February.  

Everyone will also have some Thursday evening rehearsals from 6:00 to 8:00pm, at St. John's in Fellowship Hall. These will be divided by dance number so it's not every Thursday for everyone.  All solo singing and speaking parts will also rehearse on some Monday evenings from 6:00 -8:00 pm at All About Music, this is also broken up by scene and song. In general the larger the role, the more rehearsal time is required, but everyone will rehearse on Saturday mornings.  

Tech Week Rehearsals are March 30th- April 2nd approximately 4:30 to 9:00 pm at Lincoln-way Central and are MANDATORY! If you cannot attend you cannot be in the show! If we have two casts the rehearsals will be split and each cast alternates days, Cast A Monday & Wednesday, Cast B Tuesday and Thursday.


The quality of the production depends on the cast as a whole, attendance is extremely important, students missing 2 unexcused rehearsals may have their parts reassigned or be removed from part or all of the show. Just like any sport, the cast is a team and when members are missing you can't play a good game. If you miss a rehearsal it is your responsibility to get together with the other cast members to learn what you missed.  


There is a mandatory performance on Saturday, February 29th between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm at our chili cook off fundraiser. Students will be giving a sneak peek of the Beauty and The Beast show for the community and local press. Admission is $5 and includes voting for the best chili or dessert.
