FROZEN MUSIC THEATRE CAMP

Meets July 13th - 25th 

Am and Pm Sessions 

Open to kids entering 1st - 9th Grade in the Fall 

CAMP LOCATION & SCHEDULE

Camp meets at St. John’s Community Center 11100 Second Street Mokena

The AM Session runs from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm PM Session is from 12:30 until 3:30 pm

Monday –July 13th both AM and PM camps will meet together from 9:00 until 3:30 pm

Tuesday - Thursday July 14th – 16th regular Camp times AM  9:00 - 12:00 & PM 12:30 -3:30

Friday July 17th 9:00 am - 12:00 both groups (AM & PM)

Friday Evening,  July 17th Performance at Firecracker Weekend, Downtown Mokena both groups

Monday - Friday July 20th – 24th AM Camp meets 9 - 12 PM camp meets 12:30 - 3:30

Saturday, July 25th Final Performance 

AM Camp show at 11:00 am The PM Camp Show is at 2:30 PM

TUITION

Tuition is $325.  There is an early enrollment discount of $25 if you pay in full before March 31st.  Tuition can be split into two payments of $175 due at sign up and $150 due by April 30th.  The paypal button above reflects that discount and includes paypal fees.  All tuition must be paid via cash, check or the paypal button above.  A partial refund is available until May 15th, no refunds are available after May 15th.

TICKETS

Tickets for the show are $6, seating is reserved and tickets are sold in advance. Tickets are assigned in the order they are received so the sooner you order the closer to the front your seats will be. We will email a ticket order form before camp starts.

WHAT TO BRING & WEAR EACH DAY

 

Backpack or bag with a couple of sharpened pencils and a spiral notebook. The paper is used for various activities.

All students should dress comfortably NO Flip Flops or Strapless Sandals please. They are too hard to dance in and we don’t want any injuries. The second week we will be doing a lot of prop making so please don’t wear your best clothes. There is a water fountain but you are welcome to bring a closable sealable water bottle each day as well.

VOLUNTEERS & COMMUNITY PERFORMANCE

Parents are required to volunteer 2 hours. The volunteer form can be filled out on line and is due before the first day of camp. If you are unable to volunteer we offer a buyout option for $30

The community performance sneak peek at All About Musicpalooza is on Friday, July 17thas part of the Lions Firecracker Weekend. The event is co-sponsored by the Mokena Lions and the Mokena VFW and we are collecting donations for the Manteno Veteran’s home. Admission is $5 or a donation from the most needed list, which includes things such as fun size chocolate candy bars (no nuts) and Little Debbie snacks as well as combs and other toiletry items. There will also be performances by our other summer performance groups including Momentum, Mokena’s Got Talent competitors and Organized Chaos our student rock band as well as fun fair games, food and community contests. Beer and wine will be for sale from the Mokena Lion’s. New this year is our patriotic baby contest.

COSTUMES

 Costumes are provided but students may be asked to wear simple pieces to go with or under their costume such as black or white pants or a certain colored shirt. We will send an updated list after parts are assigned.  

AUDITIONS

Each child will learn about the audition process and then audition for their part during the first day of camp. We want this to be a positive experience for everyone and will allow kids to audition in pairs and small groups. HOWEVER if your child is trying for a part that sings a solo in the show then they will need to sing a solo at auditions. Auditions are held in front of the entire camp and everyone applauds at the conclusion of each audition. 

We have attached the character descriptions and the audition lines to this email. We will explain and review these the first day of camp after we do some team building/getting to know you theatre games. We have also attached the sheet music they need to sing as part of their audition. For listening purposes you can find all of the songs by doing a search on YouTube. Simply enter the song title and “Frozen Kids.” The Kids part is important as the Broadway and movie versions are slightly different.

FUN DAYS

As part of camp the kids will be suggesting and voting on various “fun days.” Once they have decided which ones they would like to have we will email a schedule to the parents. “Fun days” often include themes such as pajama day, decades day (50’s, 60’s 70’s 80’s), crazy hair or hat day and so on.
